Dolphins of Monkey Mia in Shark Bay

At Monkey Mia, 27km by sealed road north east of Denham, three generations of Bottle Nosed Dolphins (Tursiops Truncatus) have visited the beautiful beach to interact with visitors. Each day these wild animals return to the delight of visitors and researchers from around the world.

Several cruise boat operators operate marine wildlife adventure cruises of from one to three hours duration from the Monkey Mia wharf. These are suitable for all ages and wheelchairs can also be accommodated in safety.

Many of these cruises also include visits to areas where you'll meet the incredible dugong or "sea cows" as they lazily meander over shallow sea grass beds they they make their home. The truly unique dugong are a crowd pleasing favourite with both young and old.
